Adopt a Pet–Save a Life!

Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats).  The number of dogs and cats euthanized in U.S. shelters annually has declined from approximately 2.6 million in 2011.  This decline can be partially explained by an increase in the percentage of animals adopted and an increase in the number of stray animals successfully returned to their owners. If you’d like to add a new pet to your family, please consider saving a life instead of buying a pet.

Also, please stop the cycle of unwanted pets. Spay or neuter your animals. 1 female cat and her offspring can birth 120,000 cats in 7 years. 1 female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs in 6 years! Here is a link to a low-cost spay/neuter organization in La Jolla that we recommend:
