October 2018 Pet Halloween Events in San Diego

Ah, October….the time of year that signals Harvesting, cooling down, preparing for shorter days. But here in San Diego, it’s Endless Summer! We may not get as much pretty foliage as other parts of the country, but at least we can enjoy near perfect weather with our pooches. Here’s what going on Halloween-wise…pick out that perfect costume and have some fun with Fido!

 

10/11 Halloween Patio Happy Hour

Mark your calendars for Halloween Patio Yappy Hour! This dog friendly event will be held from 4 p.m. to TBD on October 11, 2018 at West Coast Tavern in San Diego, CA, US. Admission is free. Contact 619-295-1688 or tavern@westcoasttavern.com for more information.
Bring Fido to the patio and enjoy $2 wells, draft beer, and house wine! There will also be a Halloween costume contest for the pups with prizes for the best costume! Dog treats graciously provided by Dexter’s Deli.

 

10/14 Halloween Pawty and Costume Contest

Come for a Halloween Pawty and Costume Contest at Bow Wow Beauty Shoppe co-hosted by Pandaloon, from Shark Tank.
Pups can enjoy treats from the bakery and enter a costume contest at 3 PM to win 3 months of free grooming by internationally renowned groomer Gabriel Fetosa, Pandaloon walking teddy bear costumes, a Doggie Birthday Party Pack and more!
Please make sure all dogs attending are healthy and safe to be around other dogs.

 

10/20 Dia de los Perros

1-5pm, The Heritage ranch, home of The San Dieguito Heritage Museum450 Quail Gardens Dr., Encinitas, 92024.
Hosted by Pupologie pet shop, this is the 8th annual event to support local non profits. This year the beneficiary is Canine angels, a local non profit that provides assistance dogs for kids with special needs. There will be entertainment, booths, demos, food trucks, pet costume contest, best tricks contest, prizes, scavenger hunt and trick-or-treating with your dog!

 

10/21 10th annual Bow Wow Brunch Cruise

11 am – 1 pm, Hornblower Cruises & Events

Dogs are invited to the exclusive Bow Wow Buffet! The 10th Annual Bow Wow Brunch Cruise is offered to help raise money and awareness about orphaned pets at Helen Woodward Animal Center. This cruise not only helps helpless animals, it puts smiles on the faces of many dog lovers in San Diego. Portion of proceeds will go to Helen Woodward Animal Center and sponsored by Petco. 10/21, Howl-O-ween Doggie Costume Contest & Parade

Mark your calendars for Howl-o-Ween Doggie Costume Contest & Parade! This dog friendly event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 21, 2018 at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, CA, US. Admission is $5 parking fee; free admission.

Bring Fido in their favorite costume to the annual “Howl-o-ween” Doggie Costume Contest & Parade. Prizes will be awarded to the top dogs! Registration opens at 9 a.m. and the parade and judging begins at 11 a.m. All contestants must fill out a photo release form.
After the contest from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., plan to stick around for the Pumpkin Patch festivities, sample some great food, and listen to live music on the Bates stage.

In just 7 short years our volunteers have worked to give hope to over 8,000 dogs in need of a chance at life. These rescued dogs were often on their last day of life in a shelter, on the streets, or abandoned by their owners. You can help in so many ways!
